The Fall/Winter 2015 shows in New York, Milan, London and Paris all had a few trends we know will make appearances in your closets this fall. As beautiful as they were on the runway, when it comes to how those clothes will be cared for so they have some longevity in your closet, that is another ‘story’ entirely. Designers create for style not function, so here are the trends that you need to be aware of, and what you should know when it comes to their care.

Valentino F/W2015

1. Black and white alternating fabrics. In pieces like this, it is very easy for the black to bleed into the white, causing permanent stains. To avoid this, a special hand cleaning technique is used to by the Jeeves technicians carefully remove stains, and restore overall freshness to the garment.

2.  Finally making the leap from accessories to clothes, fringe has made its’ way back onto our clothes. In cleaning pieces with fringe, you want to make sure that it maintains it’s shape, and doesn’t start to fray, get tangled or look ‘ratty’. To do this, we tie ‘tie’ the fringe together before any cleaning is done to the garment.

3.  Multi-Colored-Multi textured fabrics, seen mostly on the Milan runways, many of these stunning pieces are incredibly complicated to clean. At Jeeves, we test all the fabrics to determine the best method to use for cleaning. Then if necessary, disassemble the piece to clean it in sections to avoid bleeding, tears in the fabric or other potential damage.
