Got a great Halloween costume planned for this weekend?…Then you may want to heed just a few pointers IF you get some makeup in your clothes!

Foundation/Body Makeup: Blot at the stain with a damp white towel to remove as much of the product as possible. Put some stain remover/pre wash treatment on the garment, and put it in the wash (following washing instructions). If you don’t have stain remover, try hydrogen peroxide).

Mascara: Using a product like Shout, apply to the stain and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Using a brush, scrub out as much of it as possible.  Launder the garment after following washing instructions. Let the garment dry flat instead of putting it in the dryer, especially if the stain isn’t completely out (because if dried that will set the stain in the garment forever.
Lipstick: As lipstick is oil based, it is important to use an oil based cleaner to remove the stain. Dawn Dish Soap is a great product, and you can begin by removing the stain using a white towel, damp with this product, and blotting it out of the garment. Next, using detergent, gently rub it onto the stain and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before following washing instructions.
