While Thanksgiving is a very deeply rooted American tradition, Jeeves has no problem celebrating ( not to mention over-indulging) as the roots of this holiday lie in merry ole’ England with the masts of the Mayflower.

After years of residing in the U.S. , your man Jeeves can’t help but to look forward to one of the most highly anticipated events of the year, The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Unlike many New Yorkers who brave the crowds and the cold Jeeves & Mrs. Jeeves are quite content to watch from the comfort of their own home as they prepare to entertain family and friends.

For the last two years however, this tradition has taken on a new meaning for your man Jeeves as he has been entrusted with the cleaning and caring for the costumes of the Samurai Power Rangers.

Jeeves has been hard at work for the last few days to ensure that these super heroes are able to impress their fans not only with their martial arts, but with their appearance as well.

Jeeves meet the lead ranger at 10PM after their arrival to JFK on Sunday evening to retrieve these brightly colored spandex ensembles from their cross-country trek. There was no time for rest and no room for the weary as Jeeves and his team went straight to the shop to get to work as they were expected by 3PM on Monday afternoon for rehearsal. On Tuesday morning Jeeves dispatched his tailor to meet with the Power Rangers for a custom costume fitting. Once this session was completed the costumes were once again returned to the workshop for repairs, alterations & cleaning. All were completed in time to be returned for yet another rehearsal early Wednesday afternoon.

While the universe counts on the Power Ranges to protect them against the powers of evil, they rely on your man Jeeves to rescue them from sweat stains and broken zippers (fighting the bad guys is hard work) It may not be as glamorous as being a super hero, but people depend on your man Jeeves in the same fashion.

If you plan to tune in and watch the parade tomorrow morning be sure to keep your man Jeeves in mind as he and his team worked very hard to make sure that the vibrant colors of the five masked heroes stand out to all of those watching.

There never seems to be a shortage of Chanel gracing the red carpets of New York City’s and at last night’s affair at Museum of Modern Art this was most certainly the case as Karl Lagerfeld  hosted the  4th Annual Film benefit “A Tribute to Pedro Almodovar”.

Your Man Jeeves handles this couture collection on a regular basis, but was amazed by the sheer volume and beauty that graced this red carpet. The only thing more beautiful than the gowns was the wall bedecked in over 20,000 red roses for this extravagant affair.

As to be expected Lagerfeld was joined by the fashion elite, like Diane Von Furstenberg  & Anna Wintour as well as two of his regular muses; young starlets Blake Lively and Elizabeth Olsen. Equally as stunning that evening were the ever stylish, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Emma Stone. While designs ranged from season’s past to those fresh off the runway there wasn’t one look that didn’t belong.

Jeeves has worked very closely on many Chanel collections over the years and hopes that you will entrust him to care for your couture should the opportunity arise.

Your man Jeeves was fortunate enough to return to one of the most highly anticipated events of the Fall; The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Instead of spending the evening at home like any other Wednesday, Jeeves was backstage at The Lexington Avenue Armory surrounded by some of the world’s most beautiful women.

Jeeves’ involvement with the show was to ensure that the elaborately ornate outfits created for this annual affair remained in pristine condition in between tapings ( you wouldn’t believe the amount of makeup that rubs off!)

Jeeves, always a man of his word can’t divulge ALL of the delicious details from his backstage endeavors. Aside from the miraculous bra that was worn by Miranda Kerr and valued at 2.5 million dollars your Man Jeeves can only share a few of his favorite outfits from the evening with you including; an inflatable latex top & belt , a lace top with a large cameo, and a light up bra!

Until the show airs Jeeves’ lips are sealed but with fashion themes that required: feathers,lace, tulle, sequins, pompoms, and parasols you can rest assured that Jeeves had his hands full! Dry Cleaning Tips

New York Magazine unveiled it’s 2011 Best Of New York issue yesterday and Jeeves was the only dry cleaning company included. We are honored.

Jeeves was named the Best Dry Cleaner for Difficult Jobs, a title that we are proud of. First and foremost Jeeves will almost always figure out a way to clean just about anything you can possibly think of that is made of fabric, leather or suede, anywhere.

The lads at Jeeves have risen to the occasion over the past year by taking on some amazing and unusual projects from hand cleaning costumes during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, paint splattered uniforms for Agent Provocature, blood splattered (stage blood mind you) costumes for the Metropolitan Opera House, and champagne soaked silk covered walls (don’t ask).

Dry Cleaning Tips

With another storm predicted for tomorrow the weather is taking a toll on every-one’s wardrobe. It’s not so much the snow, which is just water, but what the snow turns into when it becomes a gray and slushy.

When snow melts in New York CIty it becomes a nasty brew of water, rock salt, calcium chloride and dissolved oil and grease. The water and oils are too much of a problem but if left for extended periods of time, the rock salt and calcium chloride will damage your wardrobe.

The type of fabrics most effected by salt and calcium chloride are wool and silk. Not too many of us are wearing silk this time of the wear, but wool is common. Salt stains will occur at the bottoms of pants and on coats when you get splashed by those drivers who relish in driving fast through puddles to cause maximum collateral damage to helpless pedestrians.

Salt and calcium chloride will cause damage and color loss to fabric if left untreated. Exposure to salt will cause leather, suede and shearling to “burn”, which causes the skin to shrink and become hard to the touch.

Clean any items that have salt rings or splash marks as soon as possible. Laundry will remove salt, but generally wool is not a washable fabric. Wool should be dry cleaned which will remove the damaging salt. Jeeves’ CO2 dry cleaning process does a remarkable job of removing salt with out putting undo stress on the garment being cleaned.

With the winter of 2011 becoming one the the snowiest on record it would be a good idea to clean your most used winter winter coat now to insure that salt stains do not cause permanent and costly damage.

I promised myself that I wasn’t going to talk about the weather, I’m tired of hearing about this topic quite frankly.

On Monday my email box had an item from the Borowitz Report that was titled, “Winter Weather Expected to Dominate the Conversations of Boring People”, I digress.

This morning I watched a woman in beautiful black leather boots (Gucci?), wade through water that was at least three inches deep at the corner of 68th and Park Avenue. As the water seeped into her boot (she grimaced), the tires of a taxi stuck in the snow started spinning and covered her off-white wool coat (Burberry?) with a slushy, gray mixture of snow and street detritus.

I offered her my handkerchief to wipe off the slush, she refused, she was too aggravated. I thought of telling her about Jeeves and asking her if she wanted me to have my driver pick-up her coat for cleaning, but she was getting more furious by the second. It wasn’t the right time. I walked away.

While the weather may dominate some conversations this week, the snow will take a toll on your wardrobe. That gray, slushy mixture is snow, salt, grease and dirt. Not really what you want on your clothes.

I’ve seen shearling coats ruined in a heartbeat after being splashed with “salty” slush. The salt literally burns the shearling and the soft leather takes on the characteristics of starched cardboard.

Do clean anything that gets splashed with slush and keep away from the tires of stuck taxi cabs.

Oh, and the leather boots? Jeeves can fix the water rings that will appear after they dry out.
