Style Chronicles: The 89th Academy Awards

We still can’t get over the 89th Academy Awards! The show was full of funny jokes, inspiring speeches, and a truly shocking ending. There was so much going on Sunday night, but it’s no surprise that our favorite part was the incredible fashion. So many celebrities took great risks on the red carpet this year that it’s impossible to cover them all! But here are our top three best looks of the night:

‘Fences’ leading lady, Viola Davis, looked so good in this custom Armani Privé gown that we wanted to give her an Oscar for it! After all, you don’t win an Emmy, a Tony and now, an Oscar for being (or dressing) mediocre! Davis, was the epitome of ageless beauty as she sauntered down the red carpet in this figure-hugging dress. The off-the-shoulder element accentuated her toned arms perfectly. A dress like this should stand alone, which is why Davis kept the accessories light with some Niwaka jewelry and a Bally bag.

‘La La LandEmma Stone looked like an Oscar herself in this lovely, sui generis haute couture by Givenchy. This dress is iconic for many reasons, one of them being that this is the last couture design Riccardo Tisci created for Givenchy, before he left the design house. The Givenchy Atelier team spent over 1,700 hours hand-beading the lace on this delicate number. Stone also made history as the first actress to win an Oscar in a Givenchy piece, since Audrey Hepburn (who won Best Actress for Roman Holiday). Way to bring Old Hollywood glam to life!

Actress Hailee Steinfeld mesmerized as she glided around in this gorgeous Ralph & Russo Couture gown. The sheer pale lavender looked beautiful against her skin tone. Reminiscent of Jennifer Lopez’s Grammy dress, the ruffles on the dress, accompanied with the embroidered flowers simply exudes femininity. The sweet and soft motifs of the dress hugged the floor elegantly, which makes it the perfect ensemble for an up-and-coming starlet.

We’re very sad that award-show season has come to an end but we appreciate these celebrities for going out with a bang! Let us know on Facebook (https://www NULL.facebook NULL.com/Jeeves-New-Yorks-Finest-Dry-Cleaner-66610321920/) which looks were your favorite.
