Years ago an old dry cleaner told Jeeves that he could get ANY stain out of ANY garment, 100% of the time.

Ever heard the phrase “desperate times call for desperate measures?” Well, in our case the phrase is “drastic times call for drastic measures” because sometimes it takes drastic measures to achieve the most drastically-perfect results. This week, a drastic time was met with drastic measures in making a one-of-a-kind gold lame Jackie Rogers gown camera-ready for the Bravo TV show, “Fashion Hunters” (airing soon).

A red ink stain from a Sharpie marker that found its way onto the silk lame of this beautiful gown would undoubtedly be no match made in heaven for any dry cleaner; the fabric is whisper thin and oh, so fragile – one small error and you’re left with yards of what is then nothing but worthless gold lame.

This “drastic task” inspired us to reflect upon the story of an old dry cleaner who once told Jeeves he could get any stain out of any garment – 100% of the time. We were thoroughly impressed – he had mastered the delicate art of using a pair of scissors.

Meanwhile, our lads in the workshop tried and tried to free the gown of its horrid red stain, but it just wouldn’t release its hold on the lame. Was Jeeves defeated?

As if in a light-bulb moment we thought, “what if we used scissors?!” and instantly our head tailor got to work nipping and tucking to create a beautiful gather and perfect fold. The result? No more red stain, gold lame ready for its fashionista close-up!

Oh, and the answer to that “drastic” question? No, Jeeves remains undefeated!

Your man Jeeves received a call last week from the manager at Rena Lange. They were in a bit of a bind as a steamer in their shop decieded to leak onto a gray jacket which was touching these beautiful white wool crepe slacks.

As you may have noticed the dye from the jacket has caused considerable damage to the white slacks, which were entrusted to Jeeves for restoration.

Our head cleaning technician was given the challenge and after hours of careful work and cleaning in liquid carbon dioxide the results are nothing less than perfection.

Jeeves has seen far too many garments with stains such as this ruined due to improper dry cleaning by shops who do not employ craftsmen.

Stain removal requires extensive knowledge of chemistry, garment construction, and fabric types. By simply placing a garment into a dry cleaning machine does not yield a stain free result.

Rena Lange Slacks after Restoration

Your man Jeeves is known world wide as the place to take care of the most difficult stains on the most delicate of garments. Why trust anyone else?

Jeeves is one of America’s Best Cleaners and the only world wide garment care concern. Jeeves New York is the only luxury garment care firm in New York to be 100% petrochemical free.

All dry cleaning at Jeeves is accomplished in liquid CO2 which is the only method approved as safe by the EPA.

“People were buying cigarettes before Freud was born”, Don Draper, Mad Men.

Your man Jeeves would suggest to Mr. Draper that he use our services on a regular basis. One would hope that when you meet with clients you always look (which Mr. Draper does) and smell your best.

With all of the smoking that Mr. Draper does in confined quarters the odor of smoke must permeate his wardrobe.

With the smoking, and Mr. Draper’s habitual womanizing, Jeeves would recommend frequent dry cleaning of his suits to remove perfume odors and perhaps Mrs. Draper wouldn’t be leaving him. Jeeves does not condone Mr. Draper’s actions, but has been trained to “look the other way” with such matters.

Jeeves can also attend to Mr. Draper’s stains, whether they be a splash of a Manhattan or a “tell tale” smudge of lipstick.

With Mr. Draper, “living like there’s no tomorrow, because there isn’t one”, it would be Jeeves’ hope to keep Mr. Draper looking and smelling great.

Jeeves’ services include hand finished dry cleaning using our hybrid CO2 process, Eco2 Cleanse. Dry cleaning in the 1960′s was accomplished with harmful chemicals, but Jeeves NY process is state-of-the-art.

No other worldwide Jeeves location or any other New York luxury dry cleaning firm has Eco2 Cleanse.

“Advertising is based on one thing: happiness. And do you know what happiness is? Happiness is the smell of a new car. It’s freedom from fear. It’s a billboard on the side of a road that screams with reassurance that whatever you’re doing is OK. You are OK”, Don Draper, Mad Men

Eco2 Cleanse, “Simply Green, Simply Clean, Simply Better for You”, Jeeves New York. What would Mr. Draper think?
