Yesterday I was working with Robert Verdi at his Luxe Lab waiting for Kristen Wiig to arrive. Robert was dressing Kristen for the Emmys and I was responsible for making the dress fit perfectly.

Being Fashion Week, Luxe Lab was full and as I hanging for a bit waiting for Kristen. Upstairs J. Alexander (Miss J) was looking through his gift bag and telling me about his Paris apartment.

I went back downstairs to the Lab and chatted with Lauren Ezersky and had a bite to eat. Kathy Griffin arrived and Robert Verdi went right to work “freshening” up her look for the afternoon.

Kristen Wiig arrived and it was time to go to work. This was a second fitting and I wanted the dress to be perfect. Kristen is nominated for an Emmy and must look great for the red carpet.

The dress was just about perfect, but the heel height changed slightly. The dress needed to be slightly longer, thankfully I had the hem basted for the second fitting, the fabric hadn’t been cut yet.

I whisked the dress back to the shop to my tailoring team who needed to start the delicate task of shortening a fragile silk chiffon. The dress has to be ready on Thursday so it can be on a flight on time for the awards on Sunday.

Pics to follow after the awards, can’t tell right now.
