The Met Gala is known for many things; world-famous celebrities, fascinating art pieces and, of course, the fashion statements of its well-known attendees.
This year, the theme was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” which led to a sea of silver, nude lips and hit-or-miss styling choices.
Here are four gowns from the 2016 Met Gala that we fell head-over-heels for—and one that really should have stayed in its owner’s closet.
“The Best List”
Lupita Nyong’o

Exquisite in this plunging green sequined number, Lupita Nyong’o looked positively radiant all night long. This sea foam Calvin Klein (http://www NULL.calvinklein NULL.com/shop/en/ck) gown incorporated theme-appropriate details (including a marvelous metallic sheen) and it paired very well with Lupita’s eye-catching hairdo.
Overall, this is a very editorial head-to-toe look. It is also our pick for “best dress”.
Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner wowed in this beautifully-designed and executed dress from Atelier Versace. Delicate and strategic cutouts perfectly complement her Lorraine Schwartz accessories. Simply stunning.
Elle Fanning
(http://drycleaningtips NULL.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Elle- NULL.jpg)
Fashion darling Elle Fanning may have kept it comparatively demure, but this champagne strappy Thakoon (https://www NULL.thakoon NULL.com/) dress is certainly worthy of your admiration. Crafted out of sleek satin, this gown has clean lines, a striking silhouette and is perfectly fitted to Elle’s form.
“The No List”
Beyoncé
(http://drycleaningtips NULL.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Beyonce NULL.jpg)
While we do admire the edginess and unexpectedness of this Givenchy (https://www NULL.givenchy NULL.com/en/) gown from Riccardo Tisci, we are sorry to say that it really isn’t doing Beyoncé (http://www NULL.beyonce NULL.com/) any favors. The idea behind it is an undoubtedly a very unique one, but the odd tailoring, unflattering latex material and the over-the-top pearl embellishments cause it to fall short.
