The World Cup has everyone excited, especially now that the USA could be a main contender to get out of the “Group of Death,” as sports commentators are calling it. If you attended any of the various viewing parties at a local bar for the GHANA vs. USA game, without fail, beer and sweat ended up in your shirt. So here’s what you need to know about removing either of those stains!
To remove a beer stain, first try and get out as much as you can with cold water. This will prevent it from setting deeper into the fabric. Then pre-treat it with your preferred stain remover, and wash on the preferred hottest water setting to ensure the lifting of the entire stain. Repeat if needed to ensure that the entire stain is gone BEFORE drying. If you dry before the beer stain has been completely removed, the stain will set.
Did you also get a little to rowdy and notice some pretty big sweat stains in the armpit area? The good news is that you can pre-treat the sweat stain the same way that you did the beer stain, the bad news is that if you have some particularly gnarly body odor, you may have to leave it to the professionals. (http://drycleaningtips NULL.com/2014/05/22/dry-cleaning-and-odors-what-you-need-to-know/) Getting out the body odor smell may require a little more skill than a pre-treat and home wash, can provide, so if you go through the process and notice there is still a smell, albeit it a slight one, bring it to your local dry cleaner BEFORE putting it in the dryer!
